NFL: Chicago Bears Top 5 Draft Needs

The Bears entered the year poised with a great defense and a young offense to go with it. What happened was Caleb Williams was running around for his life which the Bears have addressed through free agency. Now that they can focus on the draft, here are some things they should consider while drafting this year. This year they have the 10th, 29th, 41st, 72nd, and the 148th picks at the moment which should help them alot. Now let’s see if we can place the right players for them so they can make it to the next level.

Running Back

D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson showed who they were last year by providing stability to the running back position last year. However they both lack any big play ability and Ashton Jeanty could be available at the 10th spot if they’re lucky. This would be a great addition and direction going into the future to go along with Williams and Rome Odunze.

Wide Receiver

Speaking of Rome Odunze, he performed great when the Bears could move the ball and showed off his big play ability many times last year. DJ Moore is still around too so what this team could use is a threat at their third slot. Emeka Egbuka could fill that slot perfectly if he’s still on the board at the 29th spot.

Tight End

Most likely you’ll see the Bears select a wide receiver at the 29th spot but if Tyler Warren is available, you could see them singing for the fences with him. Warren is another big body to add to a revamped offensive line and his skill set would work perfectly for what Ben Johnson wants to do this year.

Offensive Line

The Bears acquired three new offensive linemen through free agency with Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson being two of them. That’s where Miles Frazier could step in and solidify this position even more with the 148th pick.

Edge

The Bears defense is good but they needed to get to the quarterback a little more last year than they did. Jared Ivey would be perfect for them at the 72nd spot, giving them size and strength off the edge.
