The Cowboys always seem to do things right before a few things go wrong that eventually leads to another forgetful season for them and their fans. However everyone is back and they revamped a few pieces on both sides of the ball through free agency. What is nice for the Cowboys is that they have 10 draft picks this year which includes the 12th, 44th, 76th, 149th, and 171st picks overall. Let’s see if America’s team can finally awaken from their slumber or if they will continue to sleep year after year.
Running Back
The Cowboys brought in Jevonte Williams through free agency but this isn’t going to be enough for them. So you can see them maybe trading up to get Ashton Jeanty because I don’t think he makes it out of the top 10. This may be the Cowboys only shot at becoming relevant again so saddle up and make the trade.
Defensive Line
Joshua Farmer slots in perfectly with the 76th overall pick for the Cowboys. He could even step in as a day one starter given his motor and drive through the hole. This would overall help the Cowboys’ run defense letting Micah Parsons do what he does best.
Wide Receiver
With the 44th pick the Cowboys better cross their fingers and hope Matthew Golden falls to them. Golden would give them speed they haven’t had for awhile that would matchup great with CeeDee Lamb.
Linebacker
The Cowboys may find themselves drafting a linebacker at this point of the draft and Nick Martin is the obvious choice. They did bring in Jack Sanborn on a one year deal as well so Martin would be a steal at this point of the draft.
Cornerback
There will be a few options at cornerback when the Cowboys pick at 171. Mac McWilliams could fall to them which would be the smart selection but if he’s gone you could see Mello Dotson get the nod.
