The Green Bay Packers had a great season last year, if not for being in the same division as the Lions and the Vikings. The addition of Josh Jacobs was a viral piece to add to Matt LaFleur’s offense. However, inconsistent play at wide receiver from either health or otherwise has had the Packers looking for that next gamebreaker for their team. This year they have eight picks this year, and they’re all really late in the draft. That means they’ll have to hit it big with their 23rd, 54th, 87th, 124th, and 159th picks overall. I could see them trading up, which I will get to right now.
Wide Receiver
The Packers have constantly struck out for consistent play outside of Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs. I feel Matthew Golden would be a perfect fit for this offense and could easily step into the third role on this offense. The only problem is Golden may be gone by time they pick at 23, which leaves Emeka Egbuka as a reach at that point.
Offensive Line
You can never go wrong drafting offensive lineman and the Packers will have a ton of great options at their 54th and 87th picks. You have Marcus Mbow, Cameron Williams, and Jared Wilson as the likely candidates at those picks in the draft giving them versatility at this point of the draft.
Defensive Line
There are going to be a ton of great defensive linemen at the 54th pick which could be the direction the Packers go if they are able to get Golden. T.J. Sanders, Deone Walker, and Tyleik Williams are all great starts to help the Packers rebuild their defense.
Edge
I decided to attack the 54th pick with the defensive line because the Packers have a great chance to get Bradyn Swinson with their 87th. If this draft goes exactly like this for the Packers, you will see an improvement on their defensive interior immediately.
Cornerback
The final picks that we’ll focus on for the Packers are their 124th and 159th picks overall. I wouldn’t mind if I saw the Packers selecting two cornerbacks at this stage of the draft. Upton Stout and Zy Alexander would be the two I would target at 124 with Quincy Riley or Nohl Williams being selected at 159.
