NFL: Los Angeles Rams Top 5 Draft Needs

Nowadays, the Rams have a great offense under Sean McVay, which puts up points at will when they’re clicking. Ask the Eagles how worried they were when the Rams charged down the field, almost winning the game against the eventual Super Bowl champs. That being said, the Rams defense improved through the year, but it still needed to be better, which they can do with some of their eight picks. As of now, the Rams hold the 26th, 90th, 101st, 127th, and 190th picks overall.

Tight End

The Rams have given us fits over the years with their tight ends for fantasy football. Either they are part of the game plan or completely forgotten about. So drafting Tyler Warren with their 26th pick would be a great selection; however, they’re already deep at this position. So, waiting to select Terrance Ferguson with their 90th pick or Gunnar Helm with their 101st makes more sense, especially for this offense.

Offensive Line

Losing Jonah Jackson was huge so the Rams could be in the market for an offensive lineman. Tyler Booker would be a great addition if he slips to them but if he doesn’t Grey Zabel is near that spot in the draft as well. Jalen Travis would be their next best option with their 101st pick before looking at Ajani Cornelius at 127.

Linebacker

I simply dislike the Rams linebacking core and couldn’t be happier to see some of them part ways with the Rams. That means the Rams will need to trade up if they want a shot at Jihaad Campbell, which is highly unlikely. That leaves Kobe King who could be available when they select with their 101st pick. I wouldn’t mind them running it back with their next pick at 127 with Smael Mondon Jr., giving us two solid linebackers from this class.

Cornerback

It would be amazing if Will Johnson could slip to the Rams at 26, giving them the best shot at a lockdown cornerback from this draft. I’ll take Bilhal Kone at 90 as well but whatever the Rams do they know they need to nail another cornerback to give our young secondary some depth.

Safety

Andrew Makuba could be the pick with their 101st pick overall giving the Rams a chance at a revitalized secondary. It’s clear that if the Rams wanted to pick three new defensive players in a row they can. You could see Jonas Sanker, sink as well to them at 127 which in my eyes means the Rams can wait on Safety, no matter what.
