The Bills had another great season with a not-so-great ending in 2024. After going 13-4 in the regular season, the Bills lost in the AFC Championship Game to the Kansas City Chiefs. Here are the top five most important players for the Bills.
5. Connor McGovern, C
McGovern played both guard and center prior to 2024, but became Buffalo’s permanent starter at center and had a great year. PFF graded him as the 12th-best C in the league – he did not allow a sack in the regular season and was a key part of the Bills’ elite rushing attack as well.
4. Greg Rosseau, DE
A young and explosive pass-rusher, Rosseau was the most productive edge defender for the Bills last season. While the defensive line regressed from 2023 – making 39 sacks in 2024 compared to 2023’s 54 – Rousseau led Buffalo with eight sacks and was also solid against the run.
3. James Cook, RB
Cook enjoyed his second straight 1,000-yard season in 2024, but made a much bigger impact on the Bills’ offense. That’s because he scored 18 total touchdowns, helping Buffalo finish drives and become one of the league’s best red zone offenses.
2. Matt Milano, LB
The 30-year-old has played just nine games in the last two years due to injury, but Milano’s ability when healthy is unquestionable. The former first-team All-Pro linebacker is a physical tackler and moves well in coverage – something Buffalo sorely missed last season.
1. Josh Allen, QB
Arguably the league’s best QB in 2024, Allen had the most efficient year of his career. Spreading the ball around and making plays with his legs, The Winter Soldier earned his first career MVP after accounting for 40 total TDs against just six turnovers.
