NFL: San Francisco 49ers Top 5 Draft Needs

Many had the Niners pegged for another Super Bowl run when all of a sudden the injury bug showed up. That led to a complete breakdown and dismantling of a team that came up way short of expectations. This year the Niners have 11 picks with the top five being the 11th, 43rd, 75th, 100th, and 113th picks, overall. Those are all great spots to pick as well giving them a ton of chances at players that can make an impact from day one.

Running Back

The Niners traded away Jordan Mason but still have a decent core left intact at the moment with CMC. I say moment because if you’re a Niners fan, you better be knocking on wood all of the season. Ashton Jeanty would be great at the 11th spot but I doubt he’ll be there unless they trade up.

Offensive Line

I have some faith in the Niners offensive line but the 75th pick would be an excellent time to draft one, if they choose too. Ozzy Trapilo is a massive giant and would bolster this line with so much beef, they would make Wendy’s jealous.

If Jeanty is gone at the 11th spot, I would love to see the Niners select either Jalon Walker or James Pearce Jr. Both of these prolific pass rushers would add some nasty to the defensive line making Danger a happy man at Dr. Roto.

Edge

Let’s keep the defensive picks going with either Donovan Ezeiruaku or Princely Umanmielen being selected with the 43rd over pick. Both can add to that mud pie that the Niners are trying to make in the trenches this year.

Both the 100th and 113th spots are great to pick a cornerback in this draft. Bilhal Kone, Jacob Parrish, and Jaylin Smith should all be available at this point of the draft. All three of them are similar so if the Niners want to dig for some gold, you could see them selecting two of them.
